"Two Egrets " (Photograph) byGeneva Renegar

"One day, down in the inter-tidal pools with my Ecology Professor he casually mentioned that shorebirds often come behind the Marine Science Building where Project O boat is and others.  I then went home and tended to other things that needed to be done around the house.  Then from some inspired intuition and inspiration I quickly grabbed my camera and tripod and went to see for myself what I might see.  It was towards dusk on September 15, 2014 (my birthday) and what I saw was incredible!!!  Just a few Snowy Egrets where in the inter-tidal pools at low tide and then more came one by one then in pairs and suddenly it became a surreal, magical display of Snowy Egrets with their grace and beauty and I've been back since and have not seen any display that comes close to what I witnessed on September 10th."
