Julia Pavone is the co-founder (with associate curator, David Madacsi, Professor Emeritus, Physics Dept.,UConn) and has been Director/Curator of the Alexey von Schlippe Gallery of Art at the University of Connecticut’s Avery Point Campus since 1992. She has also taught courses in Studio Art and Art History at UConn since 1988. Julia has continued her own work as a painter over the last 30 years, creating large abstract and mixed media pieces. She has been given numerous exhibitions, showings in art galleries regionally and in New York City, and many commissions, including a mural at the Prudential Center in Boston. Her work can also be seen in various llocations throughout the Branford House Mansion.
